History Of The Centre

Land was acquired with the assistance of the local council and building works started in 2010. As the pictures above show, work started from scratch.

 

A German charity, led by Dr. Kristin Menzel, worked tirelessly to establish the Centre. It secured pump primed funding for the building works and equipment. The charity also regularly sent doctors on a short term basis. This pump priming ended in July of 2016.

 

September 26th 2011 saw the official opening of the Centre! The very next day, the first patients entered the Clinic.  In the next three months over 42,000 patients were treated!
