M and Bob and Lamin.jpg

The Chair and Secretary were very pleased to meet up on January 20th 2024 with Lamin Njie, Clinical Advisor to the Trustees (CAT) and Kumba Buwaro, our latest Bendon Bursarian.

At the meeting, Kumba received her reconditioned laptop - kindly donated by Linda Gainsborough and updated by TK of Revive My Device, Brockley - and her first instalment of her Bursary.

The Trustees also returned his repaired laptop to Nfamara - one of the Bendon Bursarians.

In addition, Lamin received a bursary to enable him sit the IELTS exams in pursuit of his MA studies application.

The focus of the meeting was:

1.  to discuss aidgambiaTCHCs newly launched website.

2. to discuss the draft Our Lives publication, to which both Lamin and Kumba are contributors. Both fed back on the publication which covers the stories of the Bursarians, their career journeys and life challenges. It was agreed Lamin would check with other Bursarian contributors about issues around anonymity and photos.

Lamin also received a set of 19 green football training bibs on behalf of Yarambamba Football Academy.

During the visit, the Charity also presented 19 red footy training bibs to AVIC Academy - picture (left) of Academy Director Bas receiving the bibs from aidgambiaTCHC Secretary, Robert.
